Hi /lit/
I've read all the books of the Dresden Files series so far and found them to be fairly enjoyable. And now that I have gotten back into reading (Used to read only textbooks for a while because of college) I wanted to ask you guys if there are any other interesting urban fantasy series somewhat similar to Butcher's works.

>> No.3857112

I haven't read the Dredsen Files myself (Although I am very looking forward to picking the first book up in a few days) but Night watch is probably my favorite urban fantasy novel series. I don't know if the English translation for it is any good though

You might like the red ones read up and see if they interest you.
The greens are IFFY, the only reason i liked them in the first place was that i read them before i read better material. Maybe they might interest you? Who knows.

Simon Green's Nightside series.

NO
I REPEAT NO!
If you looked here >>3859175 you will notice that i have the books there but it is not highlighted. The books are complete shit, i don't know if it is because i read 1-12 of them one after the other but its shit. The fucking dude just keeps repeating "serious magiks" and "serious defenses" all through out the book, i wanted to punch a baby after reading through all that shit. It started off nice but it became repetitive. I enjoyed the first couple books but couldn't take anymore.
That was the Nightside Series, they same shit happens in the Secret Histories Series. I don't know if the repetition is because it was made for ADHD autistic kids but.... read at your own peril... Maybe this guy was trying to troll you into reading shit and i just ruin it for him or maybe he actually liked it its up to you OP.

You liked the Night watch?
You heard there is to be a next book out?
I think the series ended there how do you think they will make this one work?

>Start reading Dresden Files
See that is where you went wrong. You started but i am sure you never finished. The first 3 books are BLEH but it really picks up later. Why do you think it is, that the the days leading up to a new release there are tonnes of Dresden Files threads? Because it is shit? It is one of those starts off lazy and breaks into a constant, sustainable jog.

What i "read" during my leisure for pleasure is magic and fantasy, if you want your dfw and Gravity's Rainbow go make another thread.
