Hello /lit/, I'm thinking of buying a journal, which hopefully will allow me to improve my writing and drawing as well as record any ideas that pop up and provide a record for the future. So it's something I'm enthusiastic about. Do you have one? what do you write/draw in it?

Is there any that you'd recommend? I'd like it to be leather-bound and A4 sized, but I'm open to alternatives.

i get hard back oxford notebooks, lined a5, from WH smiths

get anything you are comfortable with but do not by moleskin. they are manufactured by satan and will kill your talent.

there is not any point in getting a leather bound book as you will fill it no time

Keeping something like a journal as a physical article is just asking for trouble as other people can find it, read it, steal it, etc.

Mine is in a truecrypt container.

Just wondering, is there actually anything bad about moleskin notebooks themselves? Do they have a bad reputation based on the people who use them? Poor quality? I am clueless when it comes to notebooks

I think it's because they tend to be used by hipsters. A bought one a while ago before I knew of this reputation and it seems to be good quality - expensive though.
