I've found The Plantagenets quite brilliant. It kept me hooked from the very beginning. Well written, he paints a clear picture of the times, not just England, but everything.

The Rise of Rome is bretty good. It's more a starting point into Roman history, I think. It gives an overview from Rome's mythological origin to the fall of the Republic. Very interesting, but keep in mind that it doesn't go all too deep.

Okay. Take the number of people you're tea-ing with. Add one to that, and add the number of teaspoons of leaves to the pot. If black tea, brew for three to seven minutes depending on how strong. If green/white, four minutes max.

Local bookstore. There are literally books EVERYWHERE. On the floor, shelves, chairs, even the toilet in the bathroom. Its awesome, and really makes the place feel really homey and welcome.

There's a similar place in my city. It's like 3 old 3-story houses knocked together with every room and half the corridors just filled with books.
