The Atlantis Complex is when I stopped.

By that time, Artemis and Holly STILL hadn't gotten together and made love, so I was through with it.

>By that time, Artemis and Holly STILL hadn't gotten together and made love

Really? the 14 year old with sociopathic tendencies and the 80 year old prejudice hook-nosed mottled green "elf" would get together and make love? Bearing in mind that despite how they've managed to patch together a friendship, she still gets reason to be disgusted with him at least twice a book?

I'm guessing you're not used to Eoin Colfer's works, otherwise you'd see this as a pattern really. They're never going to do this. At best they'll get a little tsundere vibe, but they're never going to screw.

Really it's a bit weird how you get annoyed that an 11-14 is not fucking a completely different species that's made it quite clear they can only ever platonic and regularly stops trusting him when not clued in that he's right, even after all the times he's right. But... ah hell, I was gonna make a comparison, but you've just got weird opinions in general.

Also, if he's gonna start romancing anyone, it'll be the French mastermind teen, alright she was given little screen-time in The Atlantis Complex and the book before it, but still.

>>3675004
Y'know I actually think he'd be all anal retentive about it. "It's made for letting shit out, not in" kind of deal. Strangely I reckon Foley would actually be into it, and Opal would be the most likely to be up for anal.

>>3675022
That's just a racial stereotype!
And probably true

Well, they basically flirt with each other in every novel.
I mean what else does the series have going for it other than the chemistry between the two?

>> No.3676254

It got silly during the Opal Deception, and the ... the Lost Tribe? Whichever one was after that was the last I read. It jumped the shark too much with it's lolmagic loltimeskip loltwins ending. I did like the runt character though.

>>3676177
You've never read a book just because you like a character? Artemis is a very readable protagonist and while his "chemistry" with Holly is interesting, it's very normal and doesn't indicate they view each other in any way but shaky friends. Plus Eoin Colfer has never been one for relationships between main characters.

Besides, the stories, despite getting wackier and silly, have always been well written and good entertainment

I love Artemis as a character. I like Holly as a character, too. That's really the reason I read as far as I did. But really, who didn't expect the two to get together and create a new species of human/fairy?

Ezra the mad? Did you read Night Angel Trilogy?

>> No.3677542

Shippers ruin everything. No exceptions.

Anyway, I stopped reading after Opal deception because it didn't seem to hold up to the first three books. Should I have continued, /lit/?

>> No.3677611

>>3677542
The next after Opal Deception gets very forced feeling. Granted it's got a lot of what made the previous ones special, and some nice scenes, but the concept was off in places and the ending was left-fieldy and kind of silly. Far as I'm concerned the trilogy is best, OD is passable and after that it's done.

I read those books when I was like 12, why is this young adult shit being discussed here?

I also wanted Holly and Artemis to bang, they were so cute together

Because the last book was released last year.
