I don't like the 'bezige bij' publisher much. They used their moral high ground "we were the good guys in WWII" a bit too much in getting as big as they did. And they are in part responsible for the big number of fiction books published on the resistance which really stagnated the literature scene for decades.

Of course some of the best Dutch books were published there, but still.

my fave book cover of the last few years.
stylish, sexy, great use of colour, is actually a scene from the book, has a suitably lame title which is a play on words and therefore perfectly replicates the old style pulp noir covers.

I had a copy of the Hobbit with this cover when I was a kid. The copy I have now is one of Gandalf walking past The Hill. Unfortunately, my copy of LoTR has covers from the live action movie. I'm not the only one who absolutely despises when they put real people on book covers, am I?
