Writing an essay comparing Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and The Canterbury Tales comparing their similarities and I'm having some trouble.

I've already mentioned how both contain magical characters that play big parts in both of their respective stories and how they both make use of the one year and one day rule but I can't think of another way in which both novels are similar, my mind has come to an almost complete halt on the idea of how both novels are similar, can you guys help me out?

Many thanks in advance, not asking you guys to write the essay for me I just need some ideas.

All homework threads contain a line like the one above, which makes me rankle.

Look, there is a reason why you have to cite all ideas that are not your own--it is because brainstorming about these works and forming your own ideas about for the paper is PART AND PARCEL OF your homework.

When you solicit other people to give you ideas for something as simple as a compare/contrast essay, you are robbing yourself of one of the most crucial aspects of the assignment: to think about the texts and to get creative on your own terms about how they are similar or different.

In fact, this step of the process is probably the most important for you to do on your own. Anyone can write out pages of shit according to someone else's outline. Forming your own outline teaches you to how to think for yourself and be innovative.

I just can't think of anything right now about the specific topic given.

Literally nothing is coming to me.
