I'm partial to 70s design with books.

I've never read that book.
Is the novel as good as the film?

Imo reading Scots dialect is dreadful so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. You might not mind it though.

The Swedish translations of Harry Potter had some nice covers.

Taking this chance.

I don't come to /lit/ a lot, but, I need to ask.

How much Book Covers matters today?

I mean, they're the chance of a book to get some attention, since not everyone read book reviews, but can spot a interesting cover and end up buying it.

I'll dump the seven Swedish covers while I'm at it.

book covers still matter, maybe more than before w/ the prevalence of e-readers, there's a lot more of an incentive to buy a physical book if it'll look good on your shelf

I kinda think the same, but I seemed silly when I look at it.

It's a book. You are buying it for the content inside it, not the way it looks.

I feel guilty when I'm moved to buy a book cause of its cover.

It's no different than an album or DVD cover.
And the cover is relevant to its contents, it represents the publisher and how they've chosen to market it. You can tell a lot about a book by its cover if you know how to read it.

I don't think I've ever read a 1000 pages of anything so quickly. It would probably take me at least 2-3 times as long to read those other books.
