I'm looking for literature similar to Hopscotch by Cortazar, or On The Road by Kerouac.

I'm into poetry too! Authors like Komunyakaa etc.

In case you didn't know, Cortazar wrote quite a few jazz books. F. Scott Fitzgerald is another obvious Jazz author, though I don't know if he's got the similarities you're looking for, same for Toni Morrison...
