I would like to know /lit/'s opinion on this novel. Thank you.

Interesting, clever, not mind blowing.

The prostitute's actions didn't make any sense to me. Although I think that Yossarian's stance was that everyone on the other side of the war was personally out to kill him was really interesting and kind of reframed the issue—especially since war is usually seen as one of those, "ooh, stabbed you, no hard feelings brah" sort of ordeal.

Personally I think it's brilliant. Incredibly funny and incredibly smart at the same time.

One of those few "great" books that actually lived up to the hype.

I thought it trailed off a bit though, like Heller wasn't sure what to do next.

It reminds me of long form sketch comedy where they have brilliant moments but drag it out until the end.

Also, it would be nice if OP contributed.

vastly overrated; a couple stories on our blog tackle the dichotomous absurdism of war better:

Dude, your parody tumblr was mildly amusing until you crept into another thread. Fuck off.

I think the very end itself was a little weak, more of a whimper than a bang. But I thought the final chapters of the novel still had some excellent sections, like the one on Snowden. There, there.

I'm not sure how you think this is a joke. We sincerely believe we tackled the subject matter better. I'm sorry to see you disagree.

that being said, if you're 14, this is a great book.

if you're 14.

Yeah, the part with Snowden was really a punch to the gut. I had almost forgotten about it.
