Also there is a website called cafescribe, which despite having a shit reader, lets you "preview" a book for free for 3 days. I used mailinator to make a new account every time it ran out for the whole semester and saved like $200 on books that way. It really was a last resort though, as their reader is really shitty.

I have heard http://www.textbooknova.com/ is ok, but I haven't used it so I can't vouch for it.

The Library is pretty okay for discussing literature with threads like 'What Are You Reading?'. But the entire point of the subforum is for thoughtful and intellectual discussion. As soon as a debate turns into namecalling or one word responses it gets deleted.

The rest of the forums are bleh.
