An assortment of approaches
Oedipus by Socrates is a classic Greek drama play that involves a tragic hero. It can be examined from multiple literary lenses. The utilization of the psychological approach is best, although other may argue the formalistic. Each approach has its pros and cons and after viewing all of them, the psychological still remains top gun. It explains everything better than the formalistic and includes crucial details the formalistic and others fails to touch on.
Oedipus the main character and protagonist kills his father and marries his mother. He has an overdeveloped id as shown by his actions throughout the play. He constantly seeks short term fulfillment which is the job of the id. Freud (Source C) says that Oedipus killing his dad and marrying his mother was a simple fulfillment of his childhood dreams. This was all part of his sub conscious desires and society did not stop this from occurring because no one knew they were related and with no social stigma to stop him his over bearing id took hold of the wheel.
The subconscious again shows itself when Jocasta Oedipus’ mother tried to get rid of her child. Parents have a desire to get rid of their own offspring (source G). We all have a desire to destroy whatever is closest to us. In this case it was Oedipus for Jocasta. She tried to have him killed as a child and her plan back fired. This is the base for the entire story. She also naturally tries to stop the conflict between Oedipus and Creon due to her maternal instincts and trying to protect him (Source F). All of these are deep rooted subconscious desires that explain why they would do such thing that seemed unexplainable.

The formalistic approach uses text from the novel and literary elements. If we were to use this most of the actions in the play would make no scenes and would confuse anyone who tried to interpret the novel. Logically Jocasta and King Laius had no reason to destroy their son, she had no solid proof besides relying on the oracles reputation which he had no proof for and was irrational. IT fails to explain things that the text does not openly state such as relationships and society’s views on topics at the time and much more which can all be major factors in character’s actions including basic human nature.
Using the psychological approach the reader can discover motives for actions and take on a deeper understanding to the novel. It explains what seems to be unexplainable and touches on topics the formalistic and other approaches fail to.

Oedipus by Socrates is an ancient Greek play featuring a tragic hero and can be examined from multiple literary lenses.

Amongst these is the psychological approach, although other may argue the formalistic. (What?)

All approaches have their own benefits and limitations. However, the psychological approach is the most appropriate to deconstruct Oedpius because it's far more clearer than the formalistic and includes crucial details the formalistic and others fails to touch on. (Like what?)

The protagonist, Oedipus kills his father and marries his mother. H.... I can't read the rest. Kid I don't know how old you are but Jesus, you need to read more.

he is right.
You're just paraphrasing the notes he's given you; work on your phrasing and avoid using such short sentences for a start.

You need help everywhere. Is English your first language? Stop switching verb tenses in your sentence. It confuses and really makes me wonder how you managed to type this without Word blowing up all over your screen. Also, stop writing boring sentences. Stop directly stating things. This is boring. Tragic plays always have a tragic hero. Stating both these things together is dumb. It is boring. I hope you understand now how dull this entire point has been.

Then imagine that you have to respond constructively and in detail to everything you read. Imagine that you have to sit face to face with the person who wrote this and discuss it with them.

I usually imagine that it's a TA grading a completion-grade rough draft assignment. They usually take things more seriously than a real teacher/professor, and are usually terrible at teaching/grading/assignment-making.
