In a socialist society you wake up at the morning, go to work, complain about your life, complain about life, go home, make love with your wife (jerkoff), read a book and sleep.

In an absurd; intrinsic perspective it doesn't matter which you live in, your life will stay the same.

Aren't you supposed to mention two options which turn out to be alike for this kind of thing?

Anyway, I don't go to work, I don't complain about my life, I don't complain about life, I do go home sometimes, I do jerk off and I do read books and sleep. Sounds much better than the alternative.

Don't worry about things of this nature before you learn things like the basics of how to use a fucking semicolon.

Easily one of the most childish and reductive attempts at a political worldview I've ever seen here. And that's saying quite a bit.

>> No.3328398

yeah your own life is going to stay shitty but isn't the point that you're helping people whose life were even shittier than yours arrive at your same level of shittiness?

that said, lol

Few socialists think socialism will be a utopia.

Refute his point. There is little difference for the average person.

Oh, except that in a socialist society, proper medical care would be available to them. I know a girl who had ACL reconstruction. It so happened that she was in between jobs. $50,000. She has been paying off the debt for the last 5 years.

Some pills are literally $600 without insurance. It's ridiculous.

>>3328392

Counter his points.

>>3328402

True, but a lot of capitalists think capitalism is utopia, which is entertaining.

Note that I am not a socialist.

Protip:

No 'real capitalist' will agree that there is any place on earth with 'real capitalism', just as 'real socialists' will point out that there has never been 'real socialism', at least not in the form of a state. However, the socialists have a bit of a better point I think, because capitalism was developed as a concept in order to explain the way things were going already (I think?), whereas socialism was from the beginning an idea for how things should be going (hence the need for revolution).

Not necessarily. That really depends on what you mean by 'proper medical care' and 'socialist society'.

Generally, in the USSR, before the the late 80s, people could get semi-advanced medicine. Short of extremely specialty procedures and organ transfers.

Except that you don't need to be in a socielist society for any of this.

Fundamentally capitalist societies can adopt socialist notions like welfare states and thrive.

Socialist societies cannot adapt capitalist notions by definition.

Pure socialism is useless trash. It limits human rights, the economy, art and technological progress.

I am the guy your first post replied to, replying to you for the first time, just so you are clear on who I am.

Anyway. I am inclined to agree with you to some degree. On the other hand, consider the following.

>limits human rights

Not anymore so than mature capitalism. You would know this if you every tried to start a business or had dealing with the law in the US. The system is horribly convoluted. While registering a LLC is straightforward and cheap enough, you can read volumes and still not understand the legal and tax ramifications. Why? Because courts interpret things how they want to interpret things.

See this article for an example of the SEC suing a kid who hasn't broken any law:

http://www.nytimes.com/2001/02/25/magazine/25STOCK-TRADER.html?pagewanted=all

At least in a socialist societies it's clear who holds the power and what limitations are.

In our society, it is not, and common people are deceived into believing they have opportunities and "rights." This is rarely the case when it comes to anything serious. While people in power get away with a ton of things.

Note that I am not a conspiracy theorist. These are just facts.

>the economy

How do you figure? Socialism generally tends to lead to full employment and proper distribution of talent (USSR). Capitalism, in general, leads to rich kids getting educations and jobs, suboptimally distributing the manpower resources. Additionally, capital is often controlled extremely inefficiently when gained through inheritance. Society is divided into capital holders and their slaves. Yes, I said slaves.

>art

The USSR produced a number of great authors.

>technological progress.

The USSR went to space first, despite American having an advantage in rocketry due to Operation Paperclip.

The drug market is pretty free, once you account for the fact that it's operated under the given conditions of being completely illegal. Past that, it's supply, demand, and reputation with the consumer / dealer.

>> No.3328958

In a Socialist society you constantly worry about what laws you're breaking, whether you have permission to do this or that, what you should say or shouldn't say.

Luckily they decide what you should eat for you.

You've resigned yourself to this fatalistic outlook. Some people work in jobs they hate, yes, but they also have families that love them and they better the world and enrich the lives of those around them by being selfless and kind people.

This is all just you trying to intellectually rationalize not growing up and taking responsibility for your life and the kind of man you're going to become because the prospect seems too daunting for you.

Stop this.

This thread is exactly what results when you answer a deliberately provocative retard. A bunch of blathering idiots who cannot resist jumping on the bandwagon proceed to launch into arguments that are sixteen words long and use vague, undefined terms like 'socialism' and 'capitalism,' contain absurd generalizations, and have no focus whatsoever. You couldn't get three people to agree on what these words mean if it actually came (god forbid) to people staking out clear and defensible positions. But even if some were pressed to insert a single lucid word into their sentence, they would surely all the while continue to assert that what they believe is irrefutably and absolutely true.

This isn't discussion, this is just embarrassing.
