I think memory distinguishes you but doesn't define you. Memory in and of itself is nothing. It takes a conscious mind experiencing those memories through thought for it to be something. In my view all a person exists as is whatever train of thought is present in thier mind at any given point in time - nothing constant or eternal. "I think therefore I am" more or less.
