If you love being a writer, then get good at it. If you don't want to work at becoming better, then you don't actually want to be a writer at all (in which case I would suggest real estate, it's a very lucrative business). Stop bitching and write a story, goddamn it. If you don't legitimately enjoy creating the characters, inventing a world, making it all out of thin air as though you were God himself, and then putting your thoughts down on paper or print in metaphor or otherwise, then you just shouldn't be a writer. And if you do enjoy it, you should at least have a concept of how to get better at it. I understand some are not gifted writers from the start, but that doesn't mean that only a select few are ever successful. So get the hell off of this site, get comfortable, maybe pack a pipe, and make yourself the writer you want to be.
