ok i know this is a wide brush questions but
how do i expand my consciousness?

>> No.3220755

>>3220746
Your consciousness is immaterial, and as such it is impossible to expand. But if you read and experience life and think about what you're experiencing you'll learn.

>> No.3220767

short term - psychedelics
long term - kundalini; achieved by meditation

you would be a retard for using psychedelics long term.

the fruits of meditation you may enjoy only if you devote to it long term

>Your consciousness is immaterial
dat idealism. not that i disagree with you. i think it is essential to rejoin to the origins of pure consciousness, but OP is probably speaking of the `consciousness` used in psychology i.e. the good old expansion of outlook on life. though, if not, just see >>3220767

This is the Vishuddimagga, the path to purification an abhidhamma work by 5th century Buddhist meditator Buddhagosa

read it, put it into practice, become enlightened

There is no consciousness.

If you prefer word games to esoteric meditation, read Idres Shahs' three books of Nasrudin tales and then read the gateless gate.

By seeking to learn from your everyday experiences.

That's it, no real special techniques involved aside from wanting to change yourself.

I wouldn't listen to anyone telling you to take drugs either.

Experience is the only way you can learn shit. Any theories you happen to cook up must be tested in real life as to prove their worth. That's how it's always been.

my point is that the person who said that drugs cannot expand your consciousness does not under stand what "consciousness" is, and does not realize that some chemicals can enhance what we call "consciousness".

of course, smoking weed or snorting mescaline usually just results in the user coming up with utter nonsense. but not always.

Goddamn stoners on my /lit/. Link me to a corresponding study on mushroom long term usage that shows its amiability, kind monsieur. Sorry to burst your bubble though, but it most certainly harms your CNS in the long run; you're supposed to "evolve" your CNS naturally, and not in any means through drug use. It's just a tool.

Drugs only give you a hint of knowledge and most people don't even remember and much less even apply what they see. A better option would be lucid dreaming, exploring your own subconscious, at least that doesn't make you into a burnout after a couple years.
