Am I the only one who thinks /lit/ is better now than it was in mid-late 2011/early 2012?

>> No.3047440

I think it's getting better and more useful every day

>> No.3047444

there are marginally less /pol/ threads and trip fag circle-jerk threads

>> No.3047446

The DFW threads stopped with D.T. Max's shit past its initial popularity. Now he's an every-other-day thing.

But with the Nobel prize, shit might get weird again depending on who wins.

lol 0/10 would laugh again

>> No.3047447

I think we are on the road to recovery.

The Nobel Prize threads have been fine. A few people even seem to know what the hell they're talking about. Murakami won't win, so don't worry about that.

>> No.3047462

Hey guys, remember when Diest was a huge fucking faggot and ruined countless boards because /lit/ does not know how to ignore shitposting. And so we found out his name and posted it here to poke shit at his shitty fucking blog untill he gave up?

Those were good times. But still now that most tripfags are gone I think /lit/ is less shitty.

>> No.3047478

>>3047462
No, I never pay attention to tripfags, sorry. I rarely ever even consciously see what's in the name field.

>> No.3047488

Seems a bit better than it was a month ago but noticed no long term changes.

There was a point where tripfags became so irritating but that seems to have gone. Only issue I have with /lit/ now is it's become very negative and rather than helping encourage people to read and sharing the passion for literature people prefer to criticise other tastes and make themselves feel superior.

But this is 4chan after all.

No one here has a passion for literature you dumb fuck. It's 99% metaironyposts about how smart and aloof the posters are, 1% poststructuralism and postmodernism, the great bastions of dilettantism. This is the worst board and you are a fag .

I'm just here to discover new authors.

This is probably my favorite board on 4chan, but you made me laugh.

>> No.3047498

I miss cumguy and Isabelle Huppert. :(

Other than that, /lit/ got really more abrasive and annoying the last few months, the Pynchon thread from the last few days seems to (I hope) mark a better state of /lit/.

Probably not Pynchon, but whoever it was that was not-Bill (and we sort of resolved that it's not Pynchon, or that it's not worth the time figuring out if it was Pynchon).

Also Japanese Insurance Adjuster's a hoax, but I really don't want it to be.

No more storm-anon, roachguy rarely pops up, D&E rarely fags up the place.

Fewer Toe Lean threads, fewer DFW threads. The worst thing that's come about is the anti-natalism thread guy, but he'll pass soon enough. Yep, we're on the road to recovery.

>> No.3047606

we need to reinstate the no rand thread rule

>> No.3047610

It was better then. Now we just have the same shit over and over. 2010 was a better year.

You guys fucked me up, today I overheard some girls talking about a vampire novel. One said "I have read all 6 novels", as I walked by I started laughing. They turn around and look at me, I leave. It was a pretty decent exit I would give it a 7/10.

I've been called out as being "that guy who also posted <X>" before and it was fucking scary catboy.

>> No.3048086

4chan in general is better, the first half of 2012 was the biggest influx of faggots I've ever seen.

>> No.3048090

i'm glad /pol/ was created and that many prominent tripfags graduated and got full-time jobs/girlfriends

>> No.3048097

I feel like it was slightly better at this time last year (still absolute trash), so little actual discussion of literature occurs that I wonder why I bother. It's especially annoying as the wiki demonstrates that a decent amount of the userbase is well read
