Not another 50 Shades of Grey.

Today I was thinking about this book and how all erotic, romantic books get directly underrated. We all agree that romantic-erotic or love novels are the worst of all since they have no literary quality, just cheap sex. So I was asking myself, is there one that is actually good? Something that excites you and that also has a certain literary quality, something that gets you a boner without being rubbish?

>Other than Lolita.

So I haven't been keeping up to date with literature due to uni recently, why is this book so popular?

Is there something to set it apart from the typical erotic fiction?

The way the erotica is written uses really obscure similes and shit.

50 probably received more press coverage than usual because it originated as a twilight fan fic. Riding on twilight's coattails (1), combined with the amateur writer making it into big business narrative (2) and the addition of some bdsm story elements (risqué enough to turn some heads, not hardcore enough to appal a wider audience) (3) turned it into the ultimate garbage pulp pornography novel.

Because it started as a Twilight fan-fiction. I'm totally serious, look it up on Wikipedia.
