I find I'm a much better reader while high; much more engaged with the text, and I can appreciate little details I'd never notice while I'm sober. It's almost at the point where I feel completely inadequate to read while sober, which bothers me greatly :S

Reading/writing while high is a fantastic experience if you're the kind of person who can hang with it. It's not for everyone, to be sure.

Weed is extremely hit or miss for reading. Usually I can't follow what I'm reading or get pissed off at the prose (even though I love it when I'm sober). It's usually better to read poetry or something short. I think it's a dosage issue. A very small amount of weed is best for reading. Just barely high enough to be considered "high."

I'd rather smoke 3 bongs and watch some Tarkovsky or Kiarostami. Anything remotely Bazinian is the best shit ever to watch stoned.

Going to museums high, I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Also getting mildly drunk is pretty good for reading.

When I smoke weed, the only intellectual activity I engage is talking with people.

I can watch a movie, sleep, do nothing, eat, go to class, anything. But to read requires a certain attention span and engagement I don't have when blazed.

I'm the type that's horrible at everything while high. I can't pay attention to books or movies, even horrible at videogames. I mostly just drink to get a buzz now, still makes things more fun but you're not quit as braindead. Not saying it's that way for everyone, just me.

Doesn't work for me. Just makes me confused and I feel like I'm missing out on the story. Last time I tried I was like "what? They're already at the psychic convention? And what's going on? She's contacting her dead friend already? I thought they were just at the psychic convention! Oh, wait"
