I just got finished reading The Fifth Head of Cerberus and my head hurts. Real bad. Is that normal?

God that book is so fucking awesome. God fucking damn.

That's all I'm saying.

Oh, I'd certainly agree. And in my current condition, that's about all I'm fit to say either.

Would it be impolite of me to give this a bump?

Only problem with that book is the shitty, generic cover art. They used the same fucking pic for a compilation of the earth of the new sun books that I bought and it spoiled it for me :( Now I'll have to buy all the books individually.

I read Shadow & Claw and loved it, then about a year later I read Fifth Head and hated it. He wasn't very good when he wrote that. The first part is pretty good but the second and third were a chore to get through.

He got much better with his later works, IMO.

I'm on Shadow and Claw, but it got incredibly boring and directionless after the weird garden thing. I'll start over if you can convince me.

It's about... uh.

It's three connected science-fiction novellas about events on a human colony on a pair of planets in a solar system, how people live there, and how they deal with the indigenous species that proceeded them. Also it's about identity, personhood, and colonialism. It's fucking incredible. Read it. Read it now.
