/lit, we need to talk about your use of "pleb" as an insult.. Rebellion, in a board your age, is a necessary fact of life.
Candidly, a sign of strength. In other words, /Lit, I respect your rebellious nature. But, as a user, I am obligated to contain that fire of contrariness within the bounds established by society and within our own structure.
Now, I am a tolerant man, but my patience has its limits.

"Pleb" is short for Plebeian. They were the general body of free land-owning Roman citizens. Nero, a Roman emperor, was even born a "pleb". And it was not uncommon for the plebeians to become both quite wealthy and influential.
Using "pleb" to somehow denote the lack of intelligence, or as a weakness for the intellectual empire a man has built, simply is not acceptable. It backfires, and our hive suffers as a consequence. You are hurting us. You are pissing on the pillars we have built. Tearing down the ones we are building..

There are times when silence is golden, and silence can be taken many ways. As a sign of intelligence. The quieter
we become, the more we hear. I pray you, stop what you are doing.

Plebeians by and large were totally average members of Roman society. Furthermore, wealthy plebeians that rose above this were viewed with disdain from the true high classes as patricians associated "class" as something that exists outside of wealth, just like we do today. Therefore, "pleb" is entirely justified for use as an insult.

As for Nero, the class system of Rome had crumbled at that point, so his origin is entirely irrelevant to your point. The kind of era to which the insult alludes is not time of the Caesars, but the time of the Republic

>Plebeians by and large were totally average members of Roman society
>Therefore, "pleb" is entirely justified for use as an insult.

Unless you, by this point, have left behind all sense of reading comprehension, you would know that "pleb" is not an insult pointed towards the lack of "patrician class", as in a social status, or in a specific system of behavior - which in itself is highly ignorant of you to say, now that everyone know Rome essentialy was composed of immigrants from all over the world, and there was no static "roman" culture - "Pleb" is however typically used towards those with seemingly "limited thinking skills", "without the awareness of constructs that go deeper than television", and those that are "unwanted when it comes to dealing with intellectually stimulating topics" (as quoted from an earlier post).

This is not even slighty justifyable by "plebs" lacking the class of a Patrician, as they very well could have proper education, indulge themselves in intellectually stimualting subjects, be interested in high art, and otherwise find themselves to be rather intelligent.

I agree with OP with this

>If you don't know what cute means, look it up.

It originally meant "acute" - i.e. clever and cunning. My mum used to say "don't be cute, anon" when I was getting a bit lippy and smart-mouthed.

However, words change meaning, and cute now means "endearing", or " being a bit infantile and attractively young", like a seal or a puppy.

Audrey Hepburn may come under the first definition (I've no idea, she may have been thick as pigshit, wasn't she Dutch or something? either way it's not what she's famous for), but she hardly follows the second.

There are many words in the English language which are better suited to describe the person in question, my only sadness is that people simply don't ever use them.

When I'm banging younger women, for example, I wish sometimes they'd send me texts and emails with a bit more content that LOL U SO CUTE. Then again, that probably serves me right for fuckign airheads, so it's not the best example.
