Thoughts on The Pale King?

I found it much more unfinished than I expected, and there were large sections that I found extremely tedious (was the detail devoted to IRS bureaucracy supposed to be some kind of meta statement about boredom?).

At the same time, there was a slew of interesting characters and plenty of humor (I liked "the Iranian Crisis").

If nothing else, I feel that I'll be very prepared if I ever decide to read Infinite Jest, which, though longer, is probably at least a little more coherent.
