Hi /lit/, long time no see,

I have a $100 gift card for Barnes and Noble.
What do I get?

Here are some of my favorites. I'll list a book if that's the only thing I've read by an author:

Hermann Hesse
Franz Kafka
Jack Kerouac
Ian Fleming
Roger Zelazny
Kurt Vonnegut
Charles Dickens
JRR Tolkien
Catch-22
Watership Down
The Brothers Karamazov

Also,
I can sometimes be a sucker for those pop psychology books.
Reading Pillars of the Earth right now by Ken Follett and I'm digging the historical medieval setting.

Get some Ernie Hemingsworth.
And by that I mean Ernest Hemingway.

The Street of Crocodiles by Bruno Schulz and Berlin Stories by Robert Walser.

They'll appeal to a Kafka fan.

Ernson McHemsbroth?
I read a Farewell to Arms and there were some manly tears at the end. Been meaning to read more of him.

Buy some decent contemporary lit and support authors who are still alive and in need of money. Just pirate e-books of older books.

Buy used. There's no point in getting new books if used ones are for sale.

I just got 3 books out of a $25 card, including shipping.

From B&N? How reliable is their marketplace feature on the website?

Yeah, the vast majority of my books were purchased used. Love to haunt yard sales and book sales, but in this case I think I'm limited to Barnes & Noble. I could probably flip the card in some way, but I'm too lazy.

You can buy used books on BN.com I just did it earlier today.

Some of them you only have to pay shipping because the warehouses are overstocked.

Totally unaware of that. Thanks for the tip.
