Do you guys know any places/sites where I can get free/cheap physical books? I'm trying to start a library and need to start my collection. Thanks guys.

I honestly can't overstate how great library sales are. They're especially great for mass market paperbacks (often 50 cents each), and sometimes you'll find a sale that you can just pay for a bag to fill, which is awesome.

Goodwill is good for trade paperbacks, since they usually price all paperbacks (mass market and trade) at $1. Hardcovers are normally $2.

Also, check your local transfer station (dump) for free books. The one in my town has a little shack that people just drop hundreds of books at, and you can take as many as you want.

Happy shopping! Tip: buying books new from barnes and noble will be enormously cost inefficient

Abebooks.com is pretty consistently the cheapest.

Thriftbooks.com and biblio.com are also usually pretty cheap.

Just use bookfinder.com. It'll list the cheapest site for the book you're looking for.
