What are your reasons for creating art?

Girls think it makes me deep and edgy.

>> No.2629008

My reasons are sort of Crocean, a combination of believing my artistic ability capable of serving historical, political, and human matters but anti-Crocean for the sake that I see my art as dispensable, temporary, a morsel in the feast of eternity.

I write because it's too expensive to hire people to act out my insane fantasies.

Off topic since I don't create any art. But I have two friends, one makes violins the other is a dancer. To them, art gives them a reason to go on living. Without art life would be meaningless.
I have more an engineering type mind so I've always pondered what in hell they're talking about. Over time, I think I get it more.

I'm not great at expressing myself through everyday speech, and I usually end up feeling misunderstood and exasperated when I try to communicate with other people. When I write, I feel I can express myself more clearly.

To escape the eternal chaos and misery. It is my illusion, and with it I embrace the sublime form.

To get it out. It pushes and shoves its way out sometimes, if I don't cooperate, I fear my head will explode.

There is only one simple reason IMHO:
fun & enjoyment

Even though it constitutes intellectual effort, has possibilities of imparting knowledge and can convey revolutionary ideas. Art will always be about fun

>> No.2631789

What are my reasons?

I like to fistfuck the chaos into shit-stained glory.
