I'm going in for surgery next Wednesday and I'll be off work for recovery for the next three weeks. They're just going to slice me open to take out some tissue and sew me back up, whatever. While I'm going to be spending my first few days too drugged up to do much but sleep and watch television and try not to pop any stitches, I want to take the opportunity to read some non-fiction. What say you /lit/? Any recent reads or old favorites? If all else fails I have a couple of popular science books and some shitty fantasy novels to keep me busy, but I'd like a change of pace.

I think you missed the part where they're making huge incisions in my chest and removing tissue. My job requires me to lift shit and if I lift shit too soon after surgery I'm going to rip myself open. Shit son, you never been under the knife?
