I used to think so when I first got started in it.
But know it's something different. The girls are a bonus, I go to the gym for myself, the feel I get from lifting is indescribable. Lifting isn't just about aesthetic, some train for strength.

Cardio is sorta over rated for fat loss, you need to create a calorie deficit, if you can make your body bigger (ie. gain muscle) it will burn more calories just to sustain itself.

Somewhat fit /lit/ here. I've been lifting for ~ 2 years, am six foot and 220 lbs. My diet as of late is shit, so I hover between a four pack with small love handles and a two pack and a small gut.

I've just lost the motivation to be ripped. It's kind of pointless, to be honest. It was nice to achieve, but maintaining it is hard as fuck for an endomorph like me. As long as I keep lifting and don't get fat again, I think I'll be fine.

Getting fit has definitely gotten me a lot more girls, though. A lot of them are probably not the kind /lit/ would be able to tolerate ("you read...for fun?")
