I just bought:
Gravity's Rainbow
The Trial
Generation of Swine
Walden
Naked Lunch
Which should I read first? I'm trying to cover my "classics" bases.

NOONE REPLY TO HIM, SO HE DOES NOT READ ANYTHING.

"Classics" as asserted by /lit/, that is, and therefore highly questionable.

I too bought Gravity's Rainbow today (6.50 whaddadeal!).

I also bought DH Lawrence's stories titled "The Prussian Officer." I read the eponymous story; lots of homoerotocism. It's interesting how he shunts the homosex away from England and onto German soldiers. I don't know, it was quite weird.

Bought GR for $2.50 in a shitty used book store.
Looked through the whole fiction section; none of it was in any order...

Considering nobody outside of the US has even heard of that piece of shit I'd say you've paid at least 10 dollars too much.

DH Lawrence I can abide. You have fun with that.

From now on, people who buy a pile of books and don't know what to read should just go alphabetically by author, NO EXCEPTIONS.

I have no clue ,but read Naked Lunch before Gravity's Rainbow. Pynchon was influenced a lot by Burroughs

HOW ARE THEY EVEN CLASSICS?

ONLY WALDEN AND PERHAPS THE TRIAL WOULD CONSTITUTE IT.
