I thought /lit/ cared about such things as bookmarks, you always seem so pretentious. In fact I am i little disappointed.

I have one bookmark but I'm currently reading 3 books.
If it's a book with a collection of short stories I usually remember where I am, otherwise I use old lottery tickets.

I usually only read one book at a time, so no, but I like neat bookmarks. I am genuinely surprised that no one else on /lit/ share my fondness of a beautiful bookmark.

It was worth 200 dollars at its prime. I don't use it on books I take out.
If the book is somewhat special, I'll just remember the page and not insert anything in it.

Actually I'd love to buy a fancy bookmark but I fear they'd be too thick (especially the nice metal ones) plus they cost as much as a regular book and I'd rather buy an actual book.

A torn-out scrap of white paper, which I lay over the book cover and draw the part of the front that it covers. That way I have a unique bookmark for each book.

I have a shitload of worthless baseball cards from my youth. They make the best bookmarks. Durable and just the right size.

I also read multiple books at a time, usually I just write down the number, slip a piece of scrap paper in, or just try to remember later what page I was on.

I've always used business cards.

I use the London Underground Tube map, the free one in those stands by the turnstiles. Pretty much bookmark shaped and good for a quick reference.
