I started downloading books onto my phone, i haven't been able to get through a physical one for years now. Addiction's gotten so bad I can physically feel the rush to my brain. Crazy stuff. Good luck getting better anon

You don't actually like literature, you just use books as a substitute for no personality like 99% of this board. When's the last time you had to force yourself to do something you genuinely enjoy?

>> No.23214780

Sounds like you bought the book to look at it, smell it not read it. Try getting books based on their content, or rather just take a pic of the book for the gram and throw it on the shelf.
The cynic in me wants to believe >>23214312 is spot on, but I've had periods where I couldn't enjoy anything due to being addicted to something else. So maybe you just need to approach your screen addiction for what it is. Do shit like alcoholics, hide your phone from plain sight, make the actual screen less enticing with grayscale, use one of those million features on your phone that lock your apps after a period of use.

It's fairly evident from your adjectives and descriptions that you like the idea of reading more than you like actually reading. Calling a new book "beautiful" and noting its "flawless cover" prizes the superficial non-content of the object, as though its whole purpose is 80 or 90% visual. The "delicious smelling pages" doesn't help you, either, since it has nothing to do with the actual text but, again, the presentation of it.

You buy books to have the book and place it on a shelf, in essence.

Never happens to me because all I read is Bukowski, Stephen King and Roald Dahl.
Call me a slopmaster but at least I don't have to force myself to read my books like half of you.

We all read Dahl to our children, bro. You're not special.

I mean his short stories, not children books.
