typing
>faster
>no hand cramps
>infinite amount of paper and pencil/ink
>1 button to undo mistakes
>convenient for cross-referencing things on the internet and in prior work
handwriting
>write too fast and it turns into illegible shorthand crap
>pencils break, pens run out of ink, papers break
>erasing stuff makes ugly smudges
and the worst downside
>makes you look like a pseud

>Practically: Typing.
I take more notes and write down more ideas with my cell or pc than a notebook just for speed and convenience.

The pros for typing are good . . . But what about the pros for handwriting? Some physical motor neuron part of the brain is engaged in handwriting, and it lets you unlock ideas you never even knew you had

Handwriting
>I'm more expressive and emotive
>My (awful) handwriting can still convey some sort of feeling
>Sometimes prone being indecipherable
>The speed of my thoughts don't match the speed of my writing

Typing
>Fast and concise
>Able to write down ideas easily without loss of grammar
>Able to correct yourself faster
>Readable
>Not as expressive and emotive as handwriting
>Feels cold and calculated
>Speed and thought go hand in hand

If you want best of both worlds, do this:
>create an AI
>have your thousands of your writing copied and compiled
>have the AI scan your texts, lexicon and handwriting style
>create a program that coincides with your AI
>now type with an AI that mimics your handwriting

Typing is better for work, when you need speed and convenience but don't need to digest things too much. Handwriting is better when you're putting a lot of thought in and makes your writing much more deliberate. I prefer handwriting when I want to think through something or when I'm working on poetry, and typing if I'm pumping out papers.

That said, you don't have to debate between them since you can always handwrite something and then transcribe it. This is the best way when you want to process everything you've written and get the benefits of a typed copy (legibility, speed, accessibility, and portability).

>> No.23123288

The only real benefit of hand-writing is retaining the information you write down.

>> No.23123343

probably writing down is better when it comes to ideas
