Are fantasy cucks really so desperate they’ll just read anything if it’s just magic in it? I remember the time I read his 1st stormlight archive book and found it incredibly bad. I ended up reading the second one after some friends who were really into the series convinced me to and while it was better than the first it stil had the same problems as the first. It is so childish. The main character is too annoying. And the magic system is so bad. It’s like a Saturday morning cartoon.

Because people reading genre fiction don't give a fuck about good literature, to them books are just cheap entertainment. It's like pop of literature. They see a new album of lady gaga, taylor swift or whoever? They listen to it.

I gave him a shot after he (somewhat shittily) finished Wheel of Time but had to drop him. Mistborn was too girl bossy for me and the series with kaladin just repeats the same banal storyline every book.

He's the textual equivalent of Waffle House. You walk in with money and exchange it for an absurd amount of food. More food than you want, even. It's of middling quality but it's comforting and consistent and you grow to like it because you associate feeling full and happy with waffle house. It's open no matter what--rain, hurricane, race riots, whatever. Waffle house is there at 3 am when you're hammered drunk. You can go to waffle houses anywhere, and it'll be the same food at the same prices and give you the same feeling. If you get used to waffle house you can even delude yourself into thinking it's actually GOOD rather than just "eh, it's there, I'm hungry I guess."
With an author like Coetzee or Ishiguro or Powers or Ghosh you have to deal with the eccentricities. The schedules that mean they might not publish ANYTHING for half a decade. A book might not be to your taste, or too experimental. They might move in an odd direction, or try their hand at short stories or poetry or bizarre allegory. Sanderson writes, I think, 1000 words a day, every day. He's churned out over 100 books of the exact same middlebrow slop. If you can tolerate one, you'll tolerate them all. After a dozen, you'll actually convince yourself you ENJOY reading them, and, oh look, another one just came out! He's perfected his lane in genre fiction and makes no pretense to actual artistry.
That being said, your critiques of his texts are extremely puerile. You sound like an undergraduate freshman. "The main character is too annoying. And the magic system is so bad."
Relatability of characters and the fucking magic system? Seriously? Speak to the bad prose, or something.

I tried to read one of his books and dropped it when the very first paragraph said something along the lines of " [the main character] prepared to be awesome." I have to assume these books are for children or genuine full-blown down-syndrome retards.

That seems like a pretty good analogy. I kinda get that sense from anyone with an output of his level. I hate waffle house too. I will continue to steer clear. Thanks anon.

I don’t care about that. All I care about is if I enjoy the book. If it’s entertaining.

Pretentious negro, he's just a fun sloppa to read, no one with IQ above 115 thinks that he's some literary genius, even Sando himself said that he doesn't write high brown literature, just do it for fun and giggles, just read it because is fun and good sloppa.

Also, Kaladin backstory and Dalinar backstory were both kino as fuck.

Fantasy is a genre for retards. Exclusively the home of shitty thinly veiled erotica written by women or a neckbeard's power fantasy.

That was Edgedancer, a novella intended to be read after the 3rd or so book in a main series.
Otherwise I agree, she reads like a cartoon character, her POV are always cringe.

Facts! The magic is in the wonder of the effect. Not the world building that justifies it.

I don't typically write manifestos about crappy genre fiction authors but I have a colleague who constantly pushes this particular shitter on anyone else who expresses even the mildest interest in literature. Sorry if me venting via 4chan post is similar to a current weirdo on the board.
