This has actually driven me away from books, as well as the internet. Now, I only read when I know I'll have to wait for a while, like office appointments or lunch freetime.
What I can say for reading is that it does broaden your horizons in ways of thinking that instagram and useless yt videos can't. Reading about the life lessons of others seems to stick in the brain better than watching a video about it. Podcasts and the like are kinda in the middle, where you focus on the words, but it's at a pace that is not your own. Consider picking up philosophical and handyman books more often and keep the fantasy/adventure fiction for when you are bored out of your mind or burnt out and want some escapism.

You can do all of that and still read a book.

we are simply not adapted to live in this world. Humans will evolve to not be so confused and paralyzed even when they rationally know what is best for them. Or we will speed things up ourselves with genetic engineering.
