I have no woman, I have no house, I have no money and live paycheck to paycheck. When is this nightmare over bros? When will be my turn to be on top? I'm just so tired of this grind, just very very tired that's all.

Why do you focus on being on top? You should long for a society where not being on top means you still have something to live for. You should want to find the balance between work and happiness, not to be set free from work.

I think 40 was an old age, but it’s not any more and the literature world is craving for a solid work of literature from a mature man that is actually good, should that task interest you. After all, Vodolazkin was nearly 50 when he published Laurus. He was a mildly successful academic at that point, but he need not have been. That’s probably the best book published in the last two decades. Point being, there’s opportunity out there for age. There’s a story to be told that’s not being told. Even this thread is testament to that.

That would be better, but such progress is accomplished only in the time scale of epochs. Progress is chaotic, often involving backsliding. Perhaps there truly is some sort of dialectical progression towards a freer and better society across human history. Perhaps a process akin to natural selection works on societies. Those which are freer develop and implement technologies faster, allowing them to survive and best their opponents.

But there is also always the threat of decadence and decay. Rulers not unified against some exterior threat quickly turn to plundering the internal riches. You see it in Rome after the Second Pubic War and you see it in the US after the Cold War. Movements toward equality occur spasmodicly throughout history, often due to great cataclysms, often with the wave receding as soon as it breaks — maybe the tide is a little higher, but there is rollback all the same. There are your daily high tides and your monthly ones after all.

Is mankind in its adolescence or its old age? It is hard to tell. We do seem to have hit a growth spurt. Perhaps maturity is to come, but only after crisis.

But for us individuals, all there we can do is seek shelter in wisdom. The world is harsh. Its pains outweigh its pleasures. The young man in his strength is old and bent eventually. Even the rich aren't happy. If anything, they seem particularly ill, particularly vulnerable to decadence and moral rot.

There is nothing new under the sun. All rivers flow into the sea but it is never full. All is vanity and chasing after wind.

The wise man seeks to escape finitude, not to store it up for himself. He steps off the hedonic treadmill and kneels before the transcendent. Our lives only have meaning if they are free and we are only free if we are not ruled over by desire, instinct, and circumstance. Only the Logos can unite our divided souls and make us truly self-moving, souls that act for reasons they can fathom.

The world is a ladder to the divine, but we must climb. Who shall climb? The man with clean hands and pure heart, undivided against himself.

Not being a loser is easy.
>be me, born to obscure east euro country to an alcoholic and a cleaning lady
>worked construction during highschool
>experienced construction worker before i even finished highschool, exploiting construction booms financed my uni
>at uni (physics), worked as welder and electrician (learned these trades at construction sites)
>25 years old (yeah i studied physics longer than 4 years), worked nightshift as electrician at the food factory, studied all that time for my masters, maintenance tech, piss easy
>factory full of women
>had lots of sex, saved lots of money, bought 0 gucci lattes or face tattoos or whatever the fuck you imbeciles do with your paychecks
>almost 30 now
>got my masters degree in physics
>~100k$ in snp500 type funds (broad, diversified, steady, reliable, 0 currency speculation, 0 shitcoins etc)
>scientific/lab software type job in a first world country
>own real estate
>not even 30, reminder
>never owned a car because cars are for retards
>protein is my biggest expenditure, also started paying for pools and gyms and so on because its a social type thing for me, also built numerous home gyms
>spent ~50k$ on hobbies such as amateur radio, precision machining, home lathes and steel mills, diodes, sensors, potentiometers, rheostats, inductors, capacitors, infrared and photodiodes, electronics of all kinds
>built small scale amateur robots (that cant do anything yet lmao), unlocking doors via phone, automatic plant watering system, built my own vacuum cleaner, bunch of small time projects

Its all about skills. Marketable, employable or even academic skills. Push ups. Pull ups. Math. Electronics. Chemistry. Anything like that. Knew this since I was 12. The key is to never stagnate. Cant ever allow yourself to stagnate. Cant ever stop doing or learning new things.
Live like this, and there is no way you can ever be a failure.

THE ETERNAL SCHOPENHAUERIAN WISDOM

I often remind myself that we’re all puppets trapped in a decomposing cage of flesh and bone, with a million desires whirling around us at all times like sirens attempting to lure us to our doom. That these desires are nothing but the conjured demons of economics, society, and evolution and while they promise fulfillment they will only use you to their own ends, increasing their strength over you, leaving you a slave and a broken human. The world of phenomena is a test, projected by the noumena, and to conquer it you must conquer yourself.

Although I might try to convince myself that life has some external value, after a night drinking with “friends” or a sexual encounter with woman, it quickly becomes apparent that most friends are not worth having, and that woman’s sexual desires are so perverse and banal that their even having desired you bears the weight of a bad conscience. What man does not disgrace himself by submitting to a woman’s desires? He becomes a fool, a brute, a scoundrel, a cuckhold, all at once— and looses himself in the process. What man benefits from society? He devoured his life’s work to the machinations of warfare and industry, he trampled the earth, he becomes bound up in stories told to gullible children, he is sold slavery and like an idiot wears his chains with pride.

Service originates in the Latin word "Servi”, meaning slave. That’s what society, friends, woman the whole world, asks from you, your slavery. In English, the familiar for of “you”, “thou”, has long since died from the language. For those lonely men in Anglo countries seeking company, this should be (with honest reflection) enough proof that you will never find it. We live in a civilizational world-spirit which lacks even the words to express friendship, closeness.

There are two things in life worth their weight in gold: freedom and silence. How many men exchange these treasures for paper? Or for a soft touch of flesh? Or for some false sense of meaning to disguise their emptiness?

In books, there is the peace of forming a genuine connection with another person. If you cannot read, write. If you cannot write, read. If you are still lonely, hire a whore; it is less demeaning and less expensive than going to clubs. Logos is the breaking free of the soul from the flesh, embrace this and turn your eyes from the treachery of desire.
