Sadly, none for me. I didn't ask for any, and doubt I will get any. I always spend the end of the year rereading.

This. It can really happen.
An online book seller from my country had a promotion a few days ago. If you made an account with them and sign-up your e-mail for the newsletter, they gave you an 100%-off coupon valid for any e-book they sell. After a few hours of signing-up fake e-mail addresses, I ended up with 375 sweet-ass e-books I couldn't afford otherwise (more than $1500 value).

Best Christmas ever!

Why would you do this?

Because even if I was abusing their promotion, I got them legally.
Because they are all retail e-books (=quality & proper formatting).
Because all those e-books aren't available to pirate.

A Bolaño book. Being back at your parent's house is good. Gifts and whatnot.

Lipovetsky and Carver. But they are translations. But they are gifts anyway. It could be worse.

I'm not getting any specifically, but I did already get a $100 Amazon gift card and I know my dad's getting me a $25 B&N one.

With the $100 one, I've so far bought:

>Balkan Beauty, Balkan Blood: Modern Albanian Short Stories
>Valerie and Her Week of Wonders by Vitezslav Nezval
>Hebdomeros and Other Writings by Giorgio de Chirico
>Contemplation by Franz Kafka
>The Narrow Road to the Deep North by Matsuo Basho
>100 Poems from the Japanese
>Tutelary Tales by Villy Sorensen
>The Horse has Six Legs: An Anthology of Serbian Poetry

And I still have $45 left on it. For the B&N one I'm thinking I'll get:

>Fado by Andrzej Stasiuk
>The Passive Vampire by Gherasim Luca

I'm already doing the 'share with the community' part. I've cleaned, formatted and proof-read many fucked-up e-books I care for. I've shared them on Anonamouse, Demonoid and even here.
This other e-books are not in English or other "international" language, but in some-other obscure language and not many people would care for them. And I'm also scared that they would "backtrace" the uploads to me. So, nah. Not this time.
