Give me the rundown?

Contrarynism. They get told Aristotle was great in their intro a philosophy course so they arbitrarily decide to denigrate him. Its a teen thing.

He is my favorite and a genius philosopher

I also like Aristotle. What gave you the impression he was hated here?

>> No.22621674

fair enough. I was wondering whether it had to do with Aristotle's emphasis on the state and also his obsession with law code.

He doesn't really get talked about here.

I hate Aristotle cause he filtered me. Plato is such a breezy joy to read and then you get to this autist and he starts boring you with antiquated science

That guy was antinatalist, he was literally the first to talk about the consent argument lmao

Plato's books are dialogues meant to be consumed by an audience. Aristotle's are literally the cliff notes for his lectures, they were not meant for direct reading, the same way a professor today gets to lecture with a few notes and go on and on with examples and explanations, Aristotle would do it with these texts.

Is he? We don't talk about anyone.

As much as I would like to make a joke about how literature isn't actually discussed on the /lit board I won't. Aristotle threads do get posted fairly often. Nowhere near as much as Plato threads since most of the people who start with the Greeks stop at Plato, and Aristotle generally requires more commitment to read.

On a cursory level, it's because his style is dry as all hell in comparison to the conversational style of Plato
