I quit. This place used to draw really interesting, active discussion. Now its dead, threads dont last longer than a day not because of active discussion but from repeat threads being constantly recycled with 2 or 3 replies, what activity does exist is a swamp of negativity and crab-bucket-ing, and the discussion is juvenile, the product of second rate intellects who take the anonymity as a pass to be as racist and dismissive as possible. Its been months since i actually had fun on this website, and ive been here since the board was created.

Guess its time to nuture actual relationships. Seems like the internet at large is dead these days.

It’s definitely worse than it used to be but I still find the occasional diamond in the rough that makes it worthwhile. All of the oldfags seem to hide in the rec threads nowdays as those haven’t decreased in value at all. If anything it means that those who were serious about reading from the start have progressed further on their journey and is there really much we can ask for? If it weren’t for this place I would have never discovered philosophy (which is a world in its own right) or have developed genuine artistic engagement and for that I owe a great deal of my intellectual development to this place. One day this site will completely fade out of public consciousness again and the oldfags shall reign once more. During the interim I will prepare for those discussions.

Indeed, this board made me buying all kind of books and reading. Well, it started with that Hunter x Hunter recommended books chart that got dropped many times in one of these HxH threads but /lit/ made me actually going deeper and reading all kinds of books.
