Lord of the Rings, H.P. Lovecraft, Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, pretty sure I saw Ayn Rand... you have the most average taste of all time.

I like the Odyssey translation a lot better than the Iliad one. Odyssey is fine, Iliad is very dry.

Here's mine, a couple of months out of date. Pretty sure the only book I've added since then is Warrior Ghost Plays from the Japanese Noh Theater.

Arranged alphabetically by author last name except for the bottom left corner, which is for the not quite as respectable books. Anthologies and oversized books and stuff are laying horizontal.

I do that. I have about 400 books just shoved onto the shelves. No organisations at all. If I want a book I just look until I find it.

I apologize for being so nosey, but I'm moving out next Spring and want to work towards a library of that magnitude.

I started collecting them about April of last year - before that I probably had about 10 books worth reading. For reference, here's a picture of my collection from June 2010.

It doesn't cost much at all, especially since I buy used and from PaperbackSwap, which sits at around $2.50/book, including shipping. I definitely just go on binges though. Up about 50 at a time whenever I get a large amount of money.
