Why did the archetype of the fat ass intellectual gentleman die?

>> No.22481549

The social class that created gentlemen died, being an intellectual isn't prominent as a laudable social achievement anymore, and being fat is now for poor people.

Poor people are fat now, not rich people.

It didn't. There's one in my uni, and he's also really short and well-respected among his peers and students.

In [current year] all the rich people are pretending to be poor and all the poor people are pretendinf to be rich so there aren't many true gentlemen around anymore

As others said, being fat is no longer a symbol of wealth, just lack of self-care.
And collective society that mostly consists of plebians without self care who are not kept in constant pursuit of noble values by jealousy of upper classes, can not and will not cultivate gentlemen, instead producing people who are equivalent to crustaceans on the evolutionary tree - the lowest effort for highest reward.
Crabs if you will.
Yes these ruffians do the job in everyday work or even literature production but they are not gentlemen, just how crabs are not humans.
pic unrelated.

FAT-ASS INTELLECTUAL GENTLEMAN FACTOID OF THE DAY:

David Hume was a real chonker (so much so that he habitually broke chairs). Supposedly he got down on one knee to propose marriage to some girl or other and couldn't get back up.

Gives new meaning to Nietzsche's remark "a married philosopher is ridiculous".
