Living in society, I can see that is is a primitive, violent, animalistic mass, most people are hardly more than savage animals.

I, however, am very peaceful and non-violent from birth, I always try to resolve situations peacefully. Admittedly, I am also a coward, but the former isn't dependent much on the latter.

I want to live a very non-violent, reculsive, introverted, contemplative life focused on spiritual pursuits and other higher ideals. Ideally, I would be vegan and live like monks do.

I'm wondering what to do. I don't want to live in a monastery either.

Anons, share your thoughts and experiences.

Catholics have orders of laity who take vows, and some live communally

Don't be stupid. If something or someone bothers you in some community, just leave that community for another one. You DON'T want to be alone forever. While you're young, it's sounds not so bad, but wait till you get to 30s, that's when it'll hit you like a truck. I'm not talking about pussy here, I'm talking about being able to ask for help from someone. Just tell people who bothers you to fuck off, and find people who are nice, and stick to them. Dilemma's solved.

Monks don't seclude just for the peaceful life, they pray for the rest of the world, it is their job essentially, aside from the rest of monastic manual labor.

What prevents you from living like you want?

What's stopping you? Daniel did all that despite living in the heart of Babylon

>I am a coward
>I want to live a very non-violent, reclusive, introverted, contemplative life where I am free from any and all responsibilities (see above)
>I don't want to live in a monastery either. (That would involve being asked to do things, having to conform to rules)

What you want to do is be a NEET, who floats with neither direction nor responsibility and is isolated from everyone who can potentially challenge his self destructive lifestyle. Your options for this are to move back into mommy's basement or if they won't have you and indulge in your lifestyle you can always try to get full disability for some made up mental illness (fast and easy, online docs will help)

If you're really serious about "Internal reflection and life focused on spiritual pursuits" but you don't want to commit to an order you can always go into the woods and be a hermit- This will rely on some form of (small) income or alms unless you want to starve. The downsides to this are just like the first option most people will just think you're a bum.

If you want to be a "monk" you will need to be a practicing adherent to a monastic faith and active in the parish/sect/temple and work your way into being trusted enough to become one. It's good that you don't want to live in a monastery because if you think you can just knock on the door and they will accept you in you're retarded.

Perhaps consider volunteering at a local church of your preferred faith or in the community and working for a non-profit.

You can't. Eventually your own body will commit violence against you. Slip a disc, shatter a tooth, torse a testicle and you'll be in the throes of intractable pain which isn't "like" hell, it is hell. Without access to medical technology you'll likely take your own life assuming the pain itself doesn't tax your heart into taking it for you.
