I've read a few of them. They're fairly entertaining / suspenseful. Pretty formulaic from what I eperienced. Usually have one protagonist character which is "the chosen one" in someway or another. Then there's some big corporate/government entity that runs everything and needs to be overthrown. There's also usually a love triangle with and they usually end up with the one that seems worse for them.

Get to self-insert as the special protagonist who's very important without doing anything to warrant it while having two boys fight over her, and the setting being dystopic is there to facilitate the fantasy. It's harmless schlock: basically the female-targeted equivalent of cool guy action hero fantasy stories/vidya.
