None of the primary actions of the witches in this historic event require suspension of disbelief. They were all practical actions that anyone with the proper training and preparation could do. Yes, there is some bloviation and exaggeration in the story, but the bulk of it is real. Generally, when people speak of witches, they are talking about things that require a suspension of disbelief to make claims reasonable.
