That's presuming he's even functioning on the level of anticipating whether what he is doing will appear genuine or not to others and whether he needs to take proactive measures to make sure they do believe it is genuine. But this is an uncertain proposition and may be the result of unconciosuly projecting your own level of intelligence onto someone else who actually lacks it.
