Start with subtle hints and then slowly progress towards more explicit content. For example in chapter one you give a general description of the woman's body, merely mentioning the armpits along with many other body parts. Maybe add the word "beautiful" here. In chapter two your main character meets the woman after she just hit the gym and tells the reader in more detail how her T-shirt is all sweaty under the armpits and fills the air with a distinctly arousing feminine odor. The main plot continues, and culminates in chapter three with a scene where the main character is seated in an armchair. The woman needs to grab a book from the shelf behind him and climbs on the chair. As she's reaching for the book, her armpit is right above his face. The author goes into lengthy and verbose details of the aroma spanning several pages.
