I read it when I was like 15. It was ok. It went way over my head and I should give it another go. I have SO MUCH I'm currently reading right now, though, and an epic backlog to boot, so I don't think I'll be checking it out any time soon, especially because I'm not particularly interested anyways hahahaha

I'm really not sure what the next ones will be, but these are my best approximation:
>Tom Clancy – Red Storm Rising
>Chuck Palahniuk – Fight Club
>Chuck Palahniuk – Choke
>[Bonus because it fits] Chuck Palahniuk – Survivor
All of these on audio bt.w.

You'd might as well read Fear and Loathing first, as it's a quick and cracking read. The Master and Margarita is fantastic too.

what you think about Narnia, Till We Have Faces, and The Screwtape Letters? I’m interested especially in the last two.

Narnia is a wonderful set of books, some of the most cosy ever written
If you have kids you are doing a disservice to them by not reading it to them at bedtime
If you dont have kids you're doing a disservice to yourself because they are heartwarming and wholesome and will make you feel better about life. My favorites are dawn treader and horse and his boy
Till We Have Faces is my favorite book and it's not even close I'm going to read it once a year every year for the rest of my life. Nothing I've read has impacted me so greatly. There is so much beauty on every page and what's more important is that there is weight to all of it. If you're familiar with Lewis' religious philosophy, it comes through in this book very clearly and eloquently. Many people, himself included, consider it his magum opus.
It's brilliant
I haven't read screwtape letters yet

I liked it because the prince got a qt tomboy gf to go on adventures with
Dawn treader has the best chapter of the series when theyre approaching the end of the world
I dont have anything negative to say about silver chair or magicians nephew, I just prefer the others
For me, it's probably
Dawn Treader > Horse > Lion > Last Battle > Silver Chair > Magician > Prince Caspian

Do THS fans like it so much because they read it before all of the current-year blackpilling? While reading it I could only think "damn Lewis really underestimated how bad things were going to get", though I know that wasn't his point. Perelandra felt so much more profound.

>> No.22108450

>>22108426
I read it recently after taking in all of the clownworld but I like it more because of the narrative than the societal commentary. In the Abolition of Man there were portions where he basically talked about how bad things were getting in HIS day, and considering that today it's about 1000 times worse than then, it's real easy to just point to that aspect of his works and say it's the most important or whatever, but I like the book for the hopeful and wholesome parts more. Everything to do with
the pendragon and merlin and jane and stuff. I do agree that perelandra had a more profound plot and themes, and I probably like it more overall, but at this point for me it's splitting hairs in terms of quality
