To be fair, its not a very good book. If you're not already on board, the asymmetry argument isn't going to do shit. Benatard forgets that people who at least think life is mostly good will see that deprivation account and go "but da baby won't get to party!"
Antinatalist literature is mostly terrible. Crawford's book sucked, Perry's book sucked, and I haven't read any others. The Conspiracy Against the Human Race isn't really an antinatalism book, but if we're counting it, its the best one.

I don't think anyone ever became a pessimist through reading. You're more likely to get there with rekt threads, trauma, and Inmendham videos.

In Benatar's defense, I did read this book while working a surgical floor so his words seemed kind of small in comparison.

Benatar is pretty unstable. On top of that he admits that his ideas are damaging while using the excuse that his work is academic and only meant for those that seek it out (note that these people are likely to have personality disorders and mental illness). Benatar objectively creates suffering and given that he's under the delusion that his work is toward the opposite: he's delusional and irrational.
