Is there anyone here who has read all or most of Rene Guenon's books? Are his arguments convincing? Have you chosen any tradition?

I am the romanian guenonfag. I have read most of his books (actually all but skipped some pages with some) and after 2-3 years of identifying myself with his worldview I came to the conclusion that it is very deceitful. Sure, he has some good points on certain topics but his overall worldview is so compact that it will lead you to support a lot of his misconceptions which are very dangerous, he will insert a half-truth and from then divert it into a lie. I think that it would be better to just stay away from him and study actual religions and philosophies instead. His perennial non-dualism is a beautiful lie and one that can lead you towards desperate indifference like nihilism or relativism. If you are a christian, I suggest you to read your own literature and don't fall for escapist exotism.

after i finished reading The reign of quantity I thought the world was literally gonna end at that very moment
very dangerous, specially if you're serious into this sort of stuff, not merely curious

guenon (and all the traditionalist troop) can be summarized in one line:
>Guénon is part of the collective anxiety and the chain reactions entailed by the end of a civilization.

its also relevant to note how it was possible that intellectuals of high caliber such as hossein Nasr, martin Lings, Titus burkhart etc, could be so enticed by Schuon, to the point of basically considering him as almost divine, a quasi-profetic figure
and a bunch of guenonians regarding Guénon as the ''infallible compass' (Michel Valsan),
its no different than a cult

and i'm not even considering the intellectual/doctrinal mistakes made by those people, portraying themselves as the heralds of Tradition (never forget the guenonian 'tone', that famous plural first-person )

I've read a bit, he's convincing but he's wrong on a lot of peripheral shit that will mindfuck you if you're dumb. For instance a lot of dumb faggots became Muslim because of his books.

Of all the fucking things to criticise Guenon for you criticise him for his central, and most correct, point. Absurd.

>and most correct, point
Yeah, when all religion has been reduced to nothing but "exoterism" or a "form" as he puts it, ofc nothing else matters but annihilationism. Unfortunately for perennialists and non-dualists, eschatology will wake them to reality but that would already be too late.

That's not true, moksha is not the only thing that matters but instead lesser spiritual attainments are still seen as being valuable in their own right, and in fact they are more realistic and appropriate for the average person to pursue, even according to the classical non-dualists themselves.

Filtered by vedantic non-dualism. If you want to get a living experience of eschatology take psychadelic drugs, psilocybin or LSD, and read the tibetan book of the dead unironically. Nothing about these things are a "beautiful lie" for an introduction to advaita vedanta I recommend books by dennis waite. People who have not tried psychadelic drugs or who have otherwise by some different means had any traumatic openings of consciousness, moments where the "unconscious" is made "conscious" and the psyche has been effectively integrated, leading to a complete self-awareness are in the dark about their existences as human beings. I assure you, the "unconscious" is REAL and is causally responsible for all psychical imbalances, and neuroses which develop in adults, the personal "bias" in your perception which you cannot even see.

I wanted to post on the comments on the website where Dennis blogs about Advaita but I was unable to create an account in order to comment
