Reading in itself does not do much, but verbal IQ, wittiness, being funny and being quietly erudite without being a blabbermouth about it, only revealing your power level when a situation calls for it, are all attractive qualities that are honed by reading, and that a few girlfriends have told me was part of what made them fall for me.

This might sound sad and pathetic but I don't know any women who reads. In fact I know almost no one who reads.

This is true. But also only a select number of girls will find these qualities attractive or even be able to recognise them, and the vast majority aren’t capable of appreciating these qualities. The girls who do appreciate these are likely to be more interesting, intelligent, creative, potentially more faithful, empathetic, higher socioeconomic status, etc. So in terms of mating strategies, it’s very good for medium to longer-term relationships. From a utilitarian PUA POV of quantity over quality however it is obviously not the way to attract girls.

Memorising poetry works. Having half formed opinions on books does very little to make you seem interesting. That being said, there's definitely a type of college aged girl -usually from a small town- who'll be excited just to be around well read bookish people for the first time in their live. Wears off pretty quick though.

Women like the fact that I read because a) I am attractive and b) it's a relative novelty. They would probably be just as interested if I was really into Warhammer figures or something.
