I've had some level of depersonalization for around 8 years now. This year it's become worse than it's ever been. I need to find a job before the end of June or I will be homeless. I'm not searching. I'm not even doing anything. I'm sitting here in my room in my parent's home, my presence barely tolerated like a lingering smell , and I'm distressing over the dumbest shit. I've spent the last 2 days pining over some shitty MMO I could write entire books on detailing all the flaws and lack of fundamental satisfaction within, but I've spent most of my remembered life on this game, and I so desperately want to return to it. Each time I reinstall it I quit soon after and repeat this process. I'm alone in life and in the game. I cannot make new friends in it, all of my old acquaintances have long gone. Yet I still so desperately want to return, to that point in time when something held my attention and people reacted to my voice and spoke to me with welcome. I would give anything for it, even knowing it's a hollow existence, rats in a skinner box, witling away their few precious years on someone else's world intentionally made to trap and squander you. I've uninstalled for the last time, but all I can think is the real world so very different? I'm not able to make connections here either, but at least there I understood the rules and mechanisms involved, was an expert, had a kind of value. I want to shake these demented thoughts and dream something new but the old has been repeatedly burned into my eyes I can't recognize anything else.

I attempted to read Being And Nothingness awhile back and translator, and this a problem with Anglo translators, is that in attempt to stay relevant they either try to alter article choices in the original language when speaking it or they attempt to extend this alteration to other word classifications, substituting "he" for "she", to use an example, at anywhere the opportunity presents itself. Most of the time these translators are female and it makes me wonder if universal literacy was indeed a mistake. Translators either run the risk of offending some transbian mystery meat or run the risk of offending the host language, and they always seem to choose the former over the latter. for the record I'm flyover trash and this should be far from relevant to me, but I don't think that everyone should be allowed to experience literacy because of how much cultural harm they can do if they apply that literary knowledge to bring others the joy of reading texts that they otherwise wouldn't be able to understand or acquire.

I like one I read years ago. My sleep addled mind won’t make it justice but it goes something like “an artist needs to create as fast as things are destroyed”. Sometimes writing the effortpost is its own reward. I’ve just written a very personal one and quickly realised I wasn’t gonna post it, but still kept at it because its ideas were important to me and I wanted to see them through. I’m also very glad for every effortpost I ever made while talking with some anon about their problems. I found an old Christmas one that I posted here years ago and it’s still one my favorite pieces of writing, even though there’s nothing special about it. Knowing that I brought joy to some anons on Christmas eve was already special enough. In fact, I wanna post a revamped version of it this year.
You know, sometimes I think about if I’ll still keep coming here when my life gets better… and the answer is yes. At my happiest I still came around to see you guys, the only differences were about how much time I spent in here and what I did during that time. I was full of hope and gratitude and found myself continuously making effortposts to help other anons. I’m rambling now, but my main point is that we should effortpost in through all things in life - results notwithstanding - especially when it comes to caring for others.
