wtf is this shit even?
it's almost like bukowksi discovered 4chan in his late 20s, goes full skizo and tries to write a book in patrick bateman style
if anyone interested, here's digital copy "for review purposes"
16 pages in, the funniest shit I have read in a while
https://lulz.com/behead-all-satans-pdf-448000-307778/
if the author is reading this: sorry for sharing your work bro, but nobody is gonna buy your book; sometimes in the future it will be a classic but for now you have to embrace obscurity

The concept is really cool. Simple and yet I've never seen it like this. Basically diary format but with very short entries, just 2-3 sentences at the start. This allows for "controlled randomness" with quick transitions and entries that feel like aphorisms but inbetween a story emerging that you have to figure out.

Good to know! I did notice there's a lot of pictures in it and the text is big. What is the word count actually? I wish I knew the word counts of some of the things /lit/ has done. I can definitely say Nesmer's stuff is pretty short. And Labuschagne probably writes the longest novels here off the top of my head.

I didn't really like it. The misanthropy of the protag, while entertaining at first, became so tired and dull by the end
>shitfuck this
>fuckshit that
>cunt nigger dickfuck shit this
We get it. A couple hundred pages of Lahey's shit metaphors from Trailer Park Boys. The protag also came off as a huge pussy until the final chapters. Constantly bellyaching about killing someone but never actually following through with it, instead taking his anger out on a neighborhood cat or something. The author would really like you to believe he is schizophrenic, but it felt forced and inauthentic. I did find the book interesting overall tho. The author does have his moments.

A few points were unclear to me. so Charlotte disappeared because he beat the fuck out of her? So he imagined the address on her head?

imagined...bigtime.
he sees the guy's name on the back of her skull, and after prepping the Colt .45, he just knows where guy lives.
the reality is: MNM-DR beat up Charlotte at some point and she moved out of that apartment with her cats.

that's what I figured. the unreliability of the narrator made things more interesting, and gives a lot more depth to the events as they (may or may not have) unfolded. the poop part made me laugh until I cried.

I can also relate to having a shitty roommate. I shared rooms with an inconsiderate Chinese kid in high school. He would play League of Legends at all hours of the night, keeping me awake with his fucking shouting. I would do various shit to him discreetly to get back at him for being an utter asshat. He kept a cup for his toothbrush in the bathroom so one of my ways of retaliating was putting my cum/piss into the cup, and putting the brush bristles down, allowing the plastic fibers to soak in my spunk. There was always a small amount of water/toothpaste at the bottom of the cup (he was lazy and unclean), so the piss/cum concoction was never noticed.

>> No.22023579

>>22023533
did you actually look at it? It starts with entries that are 2-3, 3-5 sentences long, this continues for like 20 pages, after which some longer entries are included but still mostly 3-5 sentences. Anne Frank isn't like this at all. It creates a strange bizarre flow that I haven't seen in any other novel.

Charlotte writes the guy's name and address down in a notebook.
but the imagined/unreliable narrator is still in play here.
