Basically, Peterson will touch a nerve by simply pointing out something that is blatantly ignored in the way an ideological group frames an issue. He exposes ideological blindspots in a simple and straightforward way; this leads to the fellow travellors of whichever idea is being discussed having a breakdown and exposing themselves. There is God, the eternal, without begining or end, and there is immanent God. Immanent God is incorporeal; God has no arms, no hair, etc. This isn't that hard to wrap your mind around. God's immanence is in the world. Experience is part of the world, not somehow illusion, since there must be a larger whole that covers both the cause of the map and the territory. God in the world is nature, which unfolds and progresses through principles of self-organization. Eternal God reaches out to man through the process of deification, by which grace grants us knowledge of the eternal.

God works through history; most of the Bible is history. Through history interpretations change and are refined. Through history man gains more and more autonomy, like a child being raised up and schooled. The end mission is peace not war.
